My service includes transferring 8mm film and super 8mm film to DVD.

I charge .15 per foot to transfer 8mm film.

I use a True frame-by-frame transfer system that then digitalizes the film. The colors are superb not white and washed out like in some transfers. I clean the film with a very special solvent removing all the oils, fingerprints that make the film look bad, and removing the oils from running it threw the projectors over the years. Then it protects the film for years and makes the film look clean before it runs through the projector for A brighter cleaner picture.

Many companies still use the same method that was used years ago. They will shine the image onto a screen and video the image. This makes the finale out come look white washed and you can see the flickering of the film.

Other services include 8mm, Hi 8mm, Digital 8mm,MinDV  and VHS and super  VHS Tape transfer. For all my tape transfers after it has been digilitized, I then scan the tape and remove the bad spots on it. Then add 3 to 5 minute chapters to it so you can get to something in the middle of the tape faster. I ad a menu button with music playing.

Some companies will just put it into a DVD VHS player and hit duplicate.

Fact: Videotape will begin to significantly degrade and lose picture quality in as little as twelve years.
